During the Monroe County Commission’s Regular Session on October 1, 2025, the Commission proudly recognized two exceptional individuals, Ms. Cheryl Clarkson and Mr. Rod Graves, for their unwavering dedication and years of service to Monroe County, West Virginia.

Ms. Cheryl Clarkson, a devoted public servant, committed over 20 years to the Monroe County Commission. Serving initially as a janitor and later in the Assessor’s Office, Ms. Clarkson’s tireless work ethic and commitment to excellence left an indelible mark on the courthouse and the community. Her steadfast dedication exemplifies the heart of public service, navigating challenges with grace and ensuring the smooth operation of county functions.

Mr. Rod Graves was honored for his countless years of exemplary service on the Monroe County Planning Commission. His strategic vision and thoughtful contributions have been instrumental in shaping the county’s growth and development. Through his leadership, Mr. Graves tackled complex challenges, fostering sustainable progress and enhancing the quality of life for Monroe County residents.
